Recently Kevin was selected to be an ambassador for Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep. If you have never heard of this organization, or the work they do, you should take a few minutes to review their website here. NILMDTS trains, educates, and mobilizes professional, quality photographers to provide beautiful heirloom portraits to families facing the untimely death of an infant. These images serve as an important step in the family’s healing process by honoring the child’s legacy.
A few days ago I got curious and asked Kevin about his role as ambassador for NILMDTS, and why he was so supportive of THIS organization. His words have resonated with me, so I wanted to share them with you today:
“Many years ago, NILMDTS was one of the first organizations by photographers that really stood out with a serious mission. They were committed to their cause, and the work their photographers were doing was truly moving and powerful. I have always admired what they do – and the courage it takes for the photographers to do what they do. Whenever I talk to other image makers about doing charitable work or changing the world with photography, NILMDTS is always part of the conversation. Each person has to find their own way to give back and contribute to their community and I believe that NILMDTS is an important option as it rallies the heart, talent, and commitment of the photographer towards a selfless gift that is fleeting, deeply emotional, and undeniably priceless. “-Kevin Kubota
I feel inspired. Inspired to see how I can change my world. So tell me, what cause are you committed to? Why? How are you changing your world with photography? How can we help you change the world?
