Yummy Mothers day

Ok, so I'm a little late, but better that then never, right? How was everyone's mother's day? My mom just returned home from being in Hawaii for a few months and we were excited to be able to be together on her special day. I made eggs benedict with crabcakes for the family and we topped it off with a family recipe for butter mochi! This anytime desert should be illegal - it's that addicting. Oh, of course we had Bloody Marys too! Here are a couple photos. I like to photograph food with natural light. Broad window light, like here, is really nice. Using a 50mm 1.4 lens almost wide open gave me the soft dreamy look I wanted. Food is often shot too literally, but really it's all about the warm fuzzy "feeling" we get from seeing and eating great food. Make sure that comes across in the photos.
